BIO
Born and raised in East Texas, Nacogdoches native Cole Stephens has had a life-long passion for music. Raised on Rock n’ Roll, country, and gospel music, Cole was brought up singing in church and picked up the guitar in high school. Cole’s voice has not only been shaped by church and his roots in Deep East Texas, but also from his early indoctrination to the music of Lane Staley (Alice in Chains), Steve Perry (Journey), Sammy Hagar, along with country singers George Strait and Toby Keith.
Around the same time Cole picked up the guitar, he began frequenting honky tonks and dance halls around East Texas to watch artists including Koe Wetzel, Parker McCollum, Randy Rogers, and Cody Johnson. Cole fell in love with the Texas Country and Red Dirt music scenes. Cole got the opportunity to play a few shows between high school and college. After his freshman year of college, Cole started writing, releasing original songs and cutting his teeth around Texas playing acoustic shows. Cole has now had the opportunity to open for artists such as Aaron Watson, Tracy Byrd, Tyler Halverson, Josh Ward, Jon Stork and others.
In the beginning of 2024, Cole took his career into his own hands and decided to pursue music full time. Coining the term Rock N’ Tonk, for the mixed variety of songs he performs, Cole’s music leans toward the country rock edge coming out of Texas. Cole has his eyes set on growing even more in 2025 with plans to release an EP, along with continuing to tour and support all around Texas and the Southern United States.
